THE STORY OF COLOUR
BREWERS DECORATOR CENTRES SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN
THE BRIEF
We were invited to pitch to Brewers for a film that helps celebrate 100 years of their high-quality Albany brand of paints and wallpapers. Well known and adopted by experienced customers, it was important to attract the attention of younger decorators, painters and artists. We needed to engage them with the exciting possibilities that the brand holds and how it has always contemporized itself, combining quality with the needs of today’s painters.



CREATIVE APPROACH
From a range of our very bold ideas, Brewers settled on a concept that used the brilliant spoken word poet, Solomon OB. We suggested a three-part structure based around the Language, Meaning and Future of Colour – to then be expanded upon with Solomon’s words and performance.
Whilst the poems were developed, we set about locations, logistics and booking time with artists and decorators from different disciplines. We filmed Solomon at the amazing Towners Gallery in Eastbourne (painted with Albany paint by artist Lothar Götz). Despite the cold and windy conditions, the spirit was high amongst all, keeping the flow and positivity of Solomon’s words and delivery. This was supported by mixed media selected from both archive and Brewers’ social channels.






OUTCOME
A series of four films, including teaser, will be launched over successive weeks on the Brewers website. Below is Part 1 and a glowing testimonial from Brewers!
